In Morocco, job creation is a national issue and one of the major axes of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) launched by King Mohammed VI to fight poverty. That is why Maroc Telecom and Vivendi decided, in 2005, to jointly create a fund to encourage business creation and to finance scholarships – the Maroc Telecom Fund for Business Creation and Job Promotion.

This fund is financed by contributions of one million euros by each of the two parties. The association’s two main missions are to provide financial support to the most deserving students and to those from disadvantaged families to enable them to continue their university studies, and to help unemployed young people concretize projects for starting businesses that can generate jobs and revenues. The association accompanies program participants from the application stage through to the concrete realization of their project.

Since its creation in 2005, 326 prizes for excellence and 132 scholarships have been granted by the association, and 81 startup projects have been approved in a range of business areas (agriculture, IT, telecoms, tourism, construction, small businesses, etc.) Through this program, Maroc Telecom and Vivendi are contributing directly to creating jobs, supporting students and young entrepreneurs, and strengthening social ties.
