A Safer Internet Day is organized annually by Insafe, a European network, Insafe, made up of 26 national awareness raising centers that encourage safe and responsible use of online technologies, in particular for children and young people. The Insafe network monitors the main thrust of developments in the online world and plays a major role in the field action regarding online safety in Europe.

In 2010, on the occasion of Safer Internet Day, the 27 national centers in the Insafe network and its partners in nearly 40 countries were mobilized worldwide around local, regional and national events aimed at making both young people and adults more aware of the problems raised by the publication of images online. A video clip was created in support of the campaign.

In the context of its partnership with the European Union in the Safer Internet program, Vivendi promoted the awareness raising campaign aimed at giving young Internet users a better understanding of the need to think carefully before posting texts, videos or photos exposing their private lives online (Think Before You Post).
