By supporting Reel Works, the Vivendi Create Joy Fund is giving young talents the opportunity to get their voices heard.

On the 7th of April, the Fourth Season of the TV Show ‘Reel Works with Avan Jogia and Erin Westbrook’ will air on NYC-Live. The show broadcasts documentaries made by young filmmakers with the help of professionals.

Reel Works is one of the leading digital media educators in the United States.

By providing free filmmaking programs, Reel Works seeks to bridge the gap between the talent and abilities of at-risk, low-income youth and the educational and professional opportunities available to them.

Thanks to after-school workshops and collaborative help from professional filmmaker-mentors, teenagers are able to learn the art and craft of filmmaking and create original short documentaries about their lives and communities. Their work is then shared with thousands through community screenings, film festivals, social-media supported webcasts and broadcasted through Reel Work’s partnership with the NYC Mayors Office of Media and Entertainment.

Some of the best things I’ve seen out of Reel Works are personal stories that are so moving …kids that would have never had the opportunity or facility to express that,  have been able to do that here at Reel Works , which is just invaluable.
